W-2 FORMS ARE DUE NO LATER THAN FEBRUARY 16TH (THAT'S NEXT TUESDAY)!! MAJOR, MAJOR GRADES FOR THIS!!
MONDAY, FEBRUARY 15TH IS A SCHOOL HOLIDAY. MAKE SURE YOU BRING YOUR W-2 FORM IN BY NEXT TUESDAY.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
* If you didn't get your CAREER CRUISING PASSWORD YESTERDAY, or you can't remember it, GO SEE THE SUB! THEY WILL HAVE A LIST OF EACH OF YOUR USERNAMES AND PASSWORDS. COME SEE ME!!
* BE SURE TO CHECK YOUR MAILBOX, THERE IS A LOT IN THERE FOR SOME OF YOU.
WHAT'S IN YOUR MAILBOX
- 2nd period only: you have a sheet, pg. 12, "Your Career Ideas & Career Matchmaker" Worksheet 4. This page goes with the packet I gave you yesterday. Please add it to the front and complete it as the directions say to.
- 3rd period only: You have the page 73 "Activity 12A, Thinking About Jobs" and the Job description sheet you chose to use for this worksheet. Please complete page 73 and turn that packet in to the turn in tray. I do not need the job description sheet back.
EVERYONE:
- A green handout titled "Work-Ethic Performance Evaluation". Please read over this page very carefully and make sure you understand it completely. This grade will begin on Tuesday, February 16th. This will be a weekly grade that will count 2 times in the 10% portion of your grade (EACH WEEK). This will also be a NINE WEEKS grade that will count 9 times in the 50% portion of your Nine Weeks average. This is a very important grade and what this whole class is about, so please read it carefully. If there are any questions, I will answer those on Tuesday. The copy in your box is your copy to keep in YOUR NOTEBOOK for future reference.
- The packet that is titled "Creating Your Personal Portfolio", Acitivity 1 and the top page is yellow, is what you will be working on for the next week. DO NOT LOSE THIS PACEKT. I RAN OFF ONE FOR EACH OF YOU. IF YOU LOSE IT, THERE WILL BE A REPLACEMENT CHARGE.
- If you have your time sheet in your box, please place it in your folder.
- Remember that your mailbox is not a place for you to store papers, UNLESS I give you specific instructions that you can. Please clean them out while I am gone.
- The website is www.careercruising.com
- On the homepage you must enter manorhs in the username box and manortx in the password box to get into the program.
- Once you are in the program, be sure to LOG ON TO your PORTFOLIO. You will use your id# and the password I gave you on Monday every time you log in to your Portfolio. You must be logged in, so that you can save all the information you will be researching and gathering.
* Lots of people ARE not coming to school and not calling or texting me. This will reflect your grade. Please make sure you are calling me before 9 am any day you are out. My cell number is 496-8887. Find a way to call me or text me. Make sure you don't forget. Get it done.

The following is a list of what you need to accomplish each da,y for the next 3 days.
WEDNESDAY:
- Make sure your "Using Career Matchmaker", Worksheet 3, pages 8-10 are complete and turned in.
- Make sure your "Your Career Ideas & Career Matchmaker, Worksheet 4, pages 12-15 are complete and turned in by the end of the period today.
- Begin working on the yellow top packet, "Creating Your Personal Portfolio", Activity 1-9, pages 2-19. I don't expect you to get any further than page 6 by the end of the period today. MAKE SURE YOU PUT YOUR NAME ON YOUR PACKET, PLEASE!
- BLOG POST ASSIGNMENT DUE TODAY:

- in the message box list your top 10 favorite careers that the computer said would be good for you
THURSDAY:
- Make sure if you are behind on anything, you get caught up and get everything turned in ASAP!
- Continue working on the yellow top packet, "Creating Your Personal Portfolio", Activity 1-9, pages 2-19.
- Today I expect you to complete pages 7-13 by the end of the period. Remember you are documenting the answers and information you find out in your packet and SAVING EVERYTHING IN YOUR PORTFOLIO IN CAREER CRUISING.
- BLOG POST ASSIGNMENT DUE TODAY:

- in the message box list 5 schools (2-year, 4-year or Career & Tech schools) that you are interested in attending or finding out more information about

FRIDAY:

- If you have a resume saved on your server, I want you to print it out and turn it into the turn in tray. If you don't, that is ok, no points off.
- If you finish all of that, please go to www.freerice.com and spend some time practicing your vocabulary.
WE WILL WORK ON THE RESUME BUILDER, NEXT TUESDAY. DO NOT MOVE ON TO THAT SECTION YET, I HAVE INFORMATION I WANT TO GO OVER WITH YOU.
