I ALSO NEED YOU TO TELL ME WHAT DAYS YOU ARE HERE TO TEST (ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE A RETESTER). I WANT TO MAKE SURE MY LIST I MADE EARLIER IN THE WEEK IS CORRECT. So if you have to come in and take the Science test on Thursday, tell me that, and then tell me you want to go home after the test.

ADVISORY TODAY: Yall may play computer games or work on course work for another class. YOU MAY NOT ALL ASK TO GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. Just hang out in the room.

Mrs. Preusse, there is no need to make my advisory class do anything majorly productive. My students are working 20+ hourse during the week, along with going to school and a ton of other things. This is my gift to them, TO JUST HAVE SOME DOWN TIME DURING THE DAY.

Ok yall know I am gone again today and I want yall to behave please.

TOMORROW - WE HAVE A GUEST SPEAKER (ANOTHER BANKING LESSON) Everyone must be here and on-time to class. PLEASE BE HERE AND READY TO LEARN AND PARTICIPATE!

It is fine with me if yall have YOUR OWN HEADPHONES, you may listen to music quietly. I don't want you blasting it from the computer speakers where everyone in the room can hear.

I don't want you playing games though. You do have work to do and you need to get it done.

I have heard that some of you have had problems with the Job Surfing project. If that is true and you did actually attempt to do it, then you can put it to the side and move on to the assignment I have listed below.

IT DOES NEED TO BE QUIET SO THAT EVERYONE CAN GET SOMETHING DONE. You may talk quietly to your neighbor, if you are talking about the assignment and helping each other out.

I will not be happy with yall if you choose to not do this project and don't follow my instructions of doing this assignment today. Please don't DISAPPOINT ME!!

I don't have yalls grades all done, so everyone will probably get an I unless I can completely finish it this weekend. I still have some of your evaluations to deliver. I am going to try and do that this weekend.

WHAT'S IN YOUR MAILBOX
  • 2nd period only: you have a sheet, pg. 12, "Your Career Ideas & Career Matchmaker" Worksheet 4. This page goes with the packet I gave you yesterday. Please add it to the front and complete it as the directions say to.
  • 3rd period only: You have the page 73 "Activity 12A, Thinking About Jobs" and the Job description sheet you chose to use for this worksheet. Please complete page 73 and turn that packet in to the turn in tray. I do not need the job description sheet back.

EVERYONE:

  • A green handout titled "Work-Ethic Performance Evaluation". Please read over this page very carefully and make sure you understand it completely. This grade will begin on Tuesday, February 16th. This will be a weekly grade that will count 2 times in the 10% portion of your grade (EACH WEEK). This will also be a NINE WEEKS grade that will count 9 times in the 50% portion of your Nine Weeks average. This is a very important grade and what this whole class is about, so please read it carefully. If there are any questions, I will answer those on Tuesday. The copy in your box is your copy to keep in YOUR NOTEBOOK for future reference.
  • The packet that is titled "Creating Your Personal Portfolio", Acitivity 1 and the top page is yellow, is what you will be working on for the next week. DO NOT LOSE THIS PACEKT. I RAN OFF ONE FOR EACH OF YOU. IF YOU LOSE IT, THERE WILL BE A REPLACEMENT CHARGE.
  • If you have your time sheet in your box, please place it in your folder.
  • Remember that your mailbox is not a place for you to store papers, UNLESS I give you specific instructions that you can. Please clean them out while I am gone.

Agenda - Fall Final Exam

Your final exam is made up of two parts:

Part I - Multiple Choice/True - False test on Quia.com
Part II - Filling out an application

Notes:
You can use a 4X6 or a 3X5 note card on your test.
Make sure you have a blue or black pen for filling out the application.

Procedures for todays exam:

1) You wil click on the link below. It will take you to part I on Quia.com.

Career Preparation WBL ~ Fall '09 Semester Exam

2) Type in your first and last name.

3) Click start now.

4) Answer each of the questions as they come up

5) Once you get to the end of the quiz, Click the END QUIZ button.

6) Then you can click the SUBMIT button.

7) Double check and make sure your test is complete.

8) Click the word Done (at the very, very button of that screen/window)

9) Your test will then be submitted.

10) Come to me and get Part II, the writen part (filling out a job application) portion of the test.

11) Once you are done with the written portion, bring the test and note card (if you used one) to me IMMEDIATELY for grading.

Your test is Friday! I expect everyone to be prepared for the exam!

Today I want you to work on creating your note card (you can use paper, must you must cut it to the size of 4 inches by 6 inches)! In the small teacher desk there is a ruler or two in the top right hand desk drawer!

I also want you to make sure that you have all your paper work done:
* yellow pay check stub record sheet
* pay check stubs copied and paper clipped behind yellow sheet
* 1st nine weeks time sheet and 2nd nine weeks time sheet filled out completely and turned in to tray
* make sure you have posted your work schedule on your blog; this is week #18
* work on your on your OSHA (must be done by Friday (remember you can stay after class tomorrow, if you want the extra time)
